We are a full service design & photography studio originally from the Mornington Peninsula, now based in magnificent South Gippsland. We are talented, efficient and accurate and can take a job from initial concept, strategy and design, right through to pre-press & printing. We cut out the middle man and manage your biggest campaign, down to your quickie job, all in the one place. From start to finish. Easy.

Emma Barrett - Founder
The beginning.
Founded in 1997, Empire was established by Billy Blue School of Design graduate, Emma Barrett as Empire Advertising in an attempt to establish an advertising agency that was not based on “the boy’s club” and boozy lunches, where the costs of such extravagances were passed down to unwitting clients.
The middle.
In 2006, Emma married a photographer who filled in the missing creative piece and Empire Creative was born. Servicing clients from all over Australia, and a fantastic stint in Hobart for an agency too good to refuse.
Recently.
Fast forward to 2015 and business was thriving to the point where a bigger premises was essential. Emma (a woman with far too many projects on the go at once) and Jarl founded Empire Collective as a way to combine their individual & collaborative pursuits and combine the talents of other creatives who fitted with the Empire ethos.
Now.
In 2018, 21 years after Empire began, Emma, Jarl and their 4 children decided to make their dreams of a tree change a reality. The Empire Collective studio is now established in South Gippsland. Still full service. Still awesome. If only we could stop looking at the amazing view and actually get some work done!
